Trekkie?

Somehow I've managed to not see any of the Star Trek movies or TV series. I don't know why because I do like Sci Fi, but I guess I just didn't want to add another TV show to my list. But because they're making a new Star Trek movie, I decided to go ahead and for the past 2-3 weeks I watched all 10 movies from our local library (for you Heroes fan, the guy who plays Sylar will be playing the younger version of Spock). Since Dan is a "Trekkie" and watched all the TV series, he watched all the movies with me and played "consultant" for me to explain things and fill in the gaps. I have to say I'm glad I watched them in order. The first one was so slow moving compared to the later ones with Patrick Stewart (Captain Jean-Luc Picard). My least favorite would have to be the fifth one, "The Final Frontier" which happened to be directed by William Shatner. It had potential, but the storyline was so weak. My favorites are the "Wrath of Khan" and I really enjoyed all the ones with Captain Picard (the 7th through the 10th). And the music is great too, which of course I have on my iPod. I can't wait to see the new movie where they'll show what happened before the 1960's series when Spock was young. It'll be great to see Leonard Nimoy playing the older Spock too. I haven't watched any of the TV series, so I guess I'm not considered a true "Trekkie" yet like Dan!

so funny that you're on the road to becoming a trekkie. i don't know that i've watched any of them in its entirety, but i imagine it to be good. speaking of sci fi, did you see space balls? or something to that effect with tim allen? wait, maybe we saw that together. i do believe that was our kuc days. :) funny movie. :)

Yup, I did see Space Balls. And that other movie with Tim Allen is Galaxy Quest...both hilarious movies! I don't remember if we saw it together, but those days @ KUC were the good old days. :)

Sheesh, 10 movies?! Didn't realize they made so many. Yeah, I'm not really a Trekkie but I liked "Next Generation" and "Voyager". "Deep Space Nine" was good in the beginning but then it just got weird towards the end with the whole Dominion thing.

Wow! I am impressed! I consider my self somewhat of a Trekkie, not as obsessive to dress like one but never have I watched all 10 movies at once. Josh and I planned on doing that one Saturday but we decided against it. I do prefer the Star Trek Next Generation series more so than the original. Maybe because it is more modern?

ha ha ha . I use to consider me a trekkie but I'm just a mild one. I didn't hear about the new movie but I'm excited. Can't wait.

I was a member of the "strategy and tactics club" in high school, more commonly known as a geek. You'd have been our dream-girl - pretty, tall, and watches sci-fi movies.
