Updates

I’m officially in the last trimester now and I’m already ready for this baby to come out! The leg swelling is bad this pregnancy as it was non existent the first time. I already had cankles to begin! That’s one bad trait I inherited from my dad. Although I got his tall lean body, I got his swollen ankles and crooked knees. It’s fine for a man, but on a woman it’s not attractive! My sister on the other hand inherited my mom’s skinny legs and thin ankles. Although she got my mom’s broad shoulders and is 2 inches shorter than me, she was able to wear fabulous shorts and mini skirts and show off her thin straight legs. Oh well, hubby says God gave us imperfections to make us humble! It's so funny seeing how Nathan inherited both of our traits: he has my crooked knees, but he has Dan's short legs and long torso. I'm the complete opposite in that I have long legs but a short torso. I'm hoping this baby has my traits minus the thick ankles!

We’re still trying to prepare the baby’s room. Our 3rd bedroom, which was our office, is now being converted into half baby’s room and half office. We don’t have a finished basement and we don’t’ have room to put our office in our bedroom. Our office space keeps shrinking with each child! Poor girl won’t have her own room as she’ll have to share with our junk, but I don’t want her sharing a room with Nathan. We have no idea what kind of sleeper/crier she’ll be and I’d hate to switch things around after she’s born. Better to be safe than sorry. When we buy our next home, whenever that is, we’re definitely getting a 4 bedroom.

Nathan is doing really well with the potty training. He’s pretty much mastered potty training at home. He can pee standing or sitting and he now poops every time in the toilet (it’s so cute watching him push while he’s on the toilet!). Although at times he forgets to go pee as he can hold it in for hours. We have to remind him to pee every hour or so…even though he says he doesn’t have to go, he pees a river when we force him! We’ve gone to friend’s houses with his underwear and he’s done well except for one major accident! While he and another girl were sitting on the piano bench, all of a sudden I hear “”Oh nooooo! I peeeeed!” He peed all over this poor girl’s pants. I felt sooo bad….luckily the girl’s parents had another change of clothes. We even went on a hospital tour last night and he did really well telling us a few times he had to pee! We’re still hesitant about going to outdoor public places like the park or certain stores where bathrooms are inaccessible. One small step at a time. We’re still having him wear his diaper during the night and naptimes until he masters his peeing capability. Hopefully he won’t regress when the baby is born!

he is growing! that's got to be one of the biggest hurdles, potty-training. not looking forward to that stage... so glad to hear that N is at the tail end, and i'm sure he'll be all good before his lil sister gets here.

That is great N is doing well with potty training. I don't think we will have Caleb trained until later. It has been an uphill battle. Yeah for 3rd trimester although boo for summer. Last week with the high temperatures was awful! I couldn't even go upstairs to say goodnight to Caleb because the hallway and bathroom are so hot (no air). Thank goodness for window units and he has air for his room.
