No More Caillou!
Sorry for those of you who lets their kid watch the PBS kid's show "Caillou", but we're in the midst of detoxing Nathan from watching this show. My co-workers and some church members told me that they don't let their kids watch Caillou because it's stupid, non-educational and Caillou is so whiny. Boy, were they right. I hate it that he whines so much and doesn't say "please" and "thank you". And what's worse is that the parents never correct him. Ever since Dan started letting Nathan watch Caillou, he's gotten more whiny and he's stopped saying Please and Thank You. There was one episode where Caillou was scared to sleep in his bed at night, so he climbed in his parent's bed and started making up every excuse to not sleep in his room (he's thirsty, he's scared of the scary monster, etc.). Well, these days Nathan has been coming in our room wanting to sleep in our bed. I'm totally against co-sleeping, so we would put him back in his bed, but he used the same excuses that Caillou said (thirsty, scared of the monster, etc.). He would scream so much to sleep in our bed, we had to lock him in his own room. His sudden change in behavior and this whole escapade got me so mad that we have now banned the show from our house. He's going through Caillou withdrawl, but he'll survive....there's plenty of other educational shows out there without the kids whining!
