Season Finales

Here are my short thoughts on some of the show's finales (spoilers below):

American Idol - I actually didn't care who won this year. Both Jordin and Blake were so different and they'll be successful either way. I was disappointed Melinda wasn't in the final 2, but I guess she only had the older people's vote. I thought the final "inspirational" song was not fair for Blake as it wasn't his style (he should have opted to go second). Did anyone pick up how similar one melody line from "This is My Now" sounded a exactly like a line from Chris Tomlin's "How Great Is Our God" ("beginning and the end...beginning and the end")? Makes sense as the winner of that song writing contest Scott Krippayne is also a Christian recording artist (I have 2 of his CD's. I thought the contest was for undiscovered talent?). This year was a bit disappointing as the guys were not good and some of the other better singers were not in the top 10. But we have to always have some controversy with this show, right? How horrible was it to hear Sanjaya last night and see that girl crying again? The guy from Aerosmith must've been cringing that he had to play with Sanjaya!

24 - What a disappointing season. Nothing was mentioned about Logan, storylines were disjointed and too many recycled storylines from past seasons. There's only so many times CTU can get attacked! Well, 2 more years of this show and they're planning on doing something dramatically different next year....possibly no more CTU.

Heroes - I was actually expecting a bigger battle scene between Sylar and Peter. Doesn't surprise me that Sylar is still alive....who's this "boogy man" that's worse than Sylar?!!

Lost - Who was in that casket....Sawyer? Who's Kate with in the future? Jack is really messed up. Who is Naomi working for? I loved how Hurley came barreling in with the van and how he proclaimed he saved everyone...too funny! Looks like Ben is losing it as he's losing all his men and credibility. 3 more years of this show....I hope they don't go back and forth with flashbacks and flashforwards....it's confusing enough already trying to piece things together!

Grey's Anatomy - ugh, this show is becoming to be a soap opera! I wish Izzie would stop sleeping around and falling in love so quickly.....I used to like her character...now I can't stand her! Should be interesting to see how they'll move with George and Burke's storyline. And please, do we need to see more love triangles again with Meredith, Derek and her half-sister? Please either just leave them alone or break them up! I don't think I'll be watching Addison's new show "Private Practice".

The Office - finally Pam and Jim are together again! It was interesting watching this season from Pam's point of view and watching Jim's point of view last year. I don't know how those people work there with Michael Scott (Steve Carrell) as their boss....insane!

ER - please end this show! I've been watching this for all 13 years now and they need to end it! Once I start a show, I can't stop watching because I need to see how it all ends.

Mother's Day & Nathan's Progress

So for Mother's Day, Dan got me something to make my commute to/from work more enjoyable. Drumroll, please....he installed a new iPod accessory in my car! Yes, not very romantic, but previously I was using an FM transmitter to listen to my iPod. The sound quality was terrible...the bass was muffled and you couldn't hear any of the trebles too clearly. Plus, there was a lot of static at times because you're hooking up the iPod using an FM station. So, basically what he did was install something so that I can listen to my iPod directly through my stereo/CD player and use the Auxilary mode (that's the best way I can describe what he did without getting technical). After spending 5-6 hours of hard labor of installing this, I can now enjoy listening to music the way it was meant to be heard. No more muffled bass and the treble is very crisp....every guitar strum and hi-hat can be heard. I know some may think this is a waste of money, but when you invest so much time into perfecting your iPod, you want to enjoy it to the fullest the way it was meant to be enjoyed. Thanks Sweetie!

Here's some updates on Nathan's progress:
*He loves to constantly hug and kiss me! I have to enjoy this as I know he'll stop doing this one day.
*He's talking in more fuller sentences. I came home yesterday from work and he said, "Mommy! I'm eating a smoothie!"
*He knows how to pull off and put on his pants.
*He can sing his ABC's. He loves to sing and dance!
*He knows all his colors and shapes (this he did many months ago). He's now describing things with color (like red apple, yellow banana, green tree, etc.). So glad he's not color blind...did you know that 7% of boys are color blind?
*He loves to clean, dust, mop and do the laundry with me. His idea of doing the laundry is throwing everything into the washer.
*Learning his manners and saying "Please" & "Thank You".
*He is constantly eating so well these days. Previously he wouldn't eat much chicken and beef, but now he loves it. And he loves Korean soups with rice (just like Mommy!).

Funny, Isn't It?

Funny how a $20 bill looks so big when you take it to church, but so small when you take it to the market.

Funny how long it takes to serve God for an hour, but how quickly a team plays 60 minutes of basketball.

Funny how long a couple of hours spent at church are, but how short they are when watching a movie.

Funny how we can't think of anything to say when we pray, but don't have difficulty thinking of things to talk about to a friend.

Funny how we get thrilled when a baseball game goes into extra innings, but we complain when a sermon is longer than the regular time.

Funny how hard it is to read a chapter in the bible, but how easy it is to read 100 pages of a best selling novel.

Funny how people want to get a front seat at any game or concert, but scramble to get a back seat at church services.

Funny how we need 2 or 3 weeks advance notice to fit a church event into our schedule but can adjust our schedule for other events at the last moment.

Funny how hard it is for people to learn a simple gospel well enough to tell others, but how simple it is for the same people to understand and repeat gossip.

Funny how we believe what the newspaper say, but question what the Bible says.

Funny how everyone wants to go to heaven provided they do not have to believe, or to think, or to say, or do anything.

Funny how you can send a thousand 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing.

AI - Final Four, Heroes & 24

So, I'm happy with the final 4 of AI: Jordin, Melinda, Lakisha and Blake. They're all different in their own way, but I think Melinda will win the whole thing...she's just in a completely different league from any of the others. I guess it really doesn't matter because they all get to go on the AI tour this summer and they'll all get a record deal. I almost don't care who wins this year.

I just got hooked on to Heroes. Dan recorded all the shows and didn't start watching it until recently. What a great show! I didn't want to start watching it because I was watching too much TV and didn't want to add another show to my list, but I immediately got hooked and addicted. This show has great writing and it'll be exciting to see how they end this season and start the next one. I can see why people jumped from watching 24 to Heroes. 24 this season has been so so. I still like it, but it's not as great as it was in past seasons. They need to change scenery or do something different next year to keep people interested. It's funny watching Heroes' Sylar and Heidi Petrelli as they were both on 24...."Sylar" was a CTU agent from season 3 and "Heidi" is currently Jack Bauer's sister in law. I love watching actors crossover into different TV shows.
